Lesser Yellowlegs (Tringa flavipes) coming in for a landing into algae
A few shorebirds are making their way south from their summer in the boreal forests of Northwest Canada and Alaska. Breeding time is nearly over now and those that did not breed this year are already returning to their winter playgrounds on the Gulf Coast and South America.
Looking for a tasty insects, crustaceans, and tiny fish
Yellowlegs are medium-sized shorebirds with long bills and...get this...YELLOW legs.
OOPS! Did it hear a camera click?
The green is grass between me and the water. I was hiding but my camera was a tad too noisy, apparently.
I am connecting to Stewart M's Wild Bird Wednesday HERE
My camera has a noisy shutter also so you have to hope for the best first shot!
