W/ Alphabe-Thursday

Wooden fantasy ship - aka playground!

W is for WOODEN.

A friend of ours (Cam Aiken) is an artist/carpenter with a four-year-old son.  Look what Cam built in his backyard - a cool fantasy ship made of wood!

Bow of the pirate's  fantasy ship

Truth be told, this ship is flying the Canadian flag...so maybe it's MY imagination that it's a pirate ship.

  15. It puts all my endeavors to shame. But heck, I was 12. Must admit though the two floor 'house' with a small stove 20 feet up was a gem. A bit dangerous, but great in the winter to smoke ciggies and bring girls. I was dangerous! hahahaha

  20. I love it!! Wow, my kids would have gone nuts over a place like this in our backyard when they were growing up!! Come to think of it, so would I and would probably have been playing with them instead of cleaning our house and cooking!!

  25. This is awesome! The ship is more than just a ship, it has everything!!! Did he use his own plans or find them somewhere? I would think a boy would never want to go in the house with this!

  26. So sorry about the shootings.

I could send you some of my Playmobils to inhabit the pirate ship!

  27. That is a grand thing for the kids to play with. If they're Canadian pirates, they say thank you after robbing you.

  28. I like these pieces so much. Well, I love wood for one thing, but they seem to much more user-friendly than the kind of overwrought plastic crap we've got in the children's playgrounds around here. Fun times!

  29. Kids like to play pirate, don't they? Ours likes to play pirate and robot. Doctor and pet vet too. She doesn't treat snakes or bugs.
