Entrance to Frenchman's Bay on Lake Ontario
The weather this week has not been frightful - certainly not as icy as December 2013 - but it has been rather dreary in spite of the above normal temperatures. On Saturday, the light looking south over Lake Ontario was lovely through the haze.
Entrance to Frenchman's Bay
Tons of people were out enjoying the mild weather walking their dogs along a breakwater,
Lake Ontario
or simply walking themselves along a beach.
Swans, Mallard and Canada Geese
Even water birds seemed to be delighted with the weather.

My snow blower needs repairs so I welcome this warm spell.
ReplyDeleteGood to see so many people out enjoying a walk... and the views!
ReplyDeleteI really like the lighthouse photo. We are experiencing some cold weather (-10C), but no snow so far.
ReplyDeleteI love the swans, and here in Florida we are unseasonably warm, 81 yesterday, and we had 2 days in a row of gray like in your pics. seems the whole world is having weather not the norm for them
ReplyDeleteI like these views of people enjoying the bay.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful views. Love that first shot! Amazing sky colors in it.

ReplyDeleteI like it:-)
ReplyDeleteHow nice! I read somewhere this was the warmest weather ever globally. Love that lighthouse shot...that's one to frame and hang with those pastels in the sky!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful view and always appreciate good weather.
ReplyDeleteNice light in the lighthouse photo.
ReplyDeletei always enjoy seeing new lighthouses. so cool. i can't believe how time is flying so. do you know that folks are already talking about how many more days until next Christmas? i know they are joking but still. wow wee!! went to the grocery store to pick up a few things yesterday and Valentine's day is out already. what??! so silly. slow down folks. please. ( :
ReplyDeletelooks really nice. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots. Looks cold, yet nice
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed this series of fabulous photos EG.
ReplyDeleteI'm amazed at the shoreline of Ontario each time I've been there. Lakes here I see the opposite shore. Looking across Ontario is like looking across the Atlantic. That's a lot of H2O.
ReplyDeleteNot at all the scenes I would expect this time of year.
ReplyDeleteIt is interesting that some of the geese have decided to stay in the North this year. The ones that came here may be wishing they had flown further south. It's been pretty cold the last few days.
The swans seem quite happy to be about. Beautiful shots, EG!
ReplyDeleteI liked your first shot. You really captured the sky's color well.
ReplyDeleteA perfect place for a walk! I think the sun is trying to come out as I type this! ;-))
ReplyDeleteLooks pretty much the same in Portland these days, not terribly cold, but GRAY and damp! Love your shots for the day as always! The lighthouse is superb!!
ReplyDeleteGreat images, and the Trumpeter Swans, lovely. Have pleasant New Year 2015.
ReplyDeleteLove the lighthouse through the haze. We have been experiencing the same kind of weather.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful moments here, and much like what we've been having lately as well. We finally got more snow after Christmas, but nothing frightful either. Winter, now that November has left (it was horrible for weather) but now it's wonderful to share! Enjoy your last week of 2015! Here's to 2015!
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine it being so cold. But your post is heartening; I love that people take their dogs out as soon as they can. I also love the swans in the last photo. Have a great week. Jo
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! After last winter, you deserve some mild weather. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the pair of swans, and the people walking. The lighthouse on the rock is awesome! Is it a working one? Warm here, too! Has been even almost 70!! wonder if it has anything to do with global warming?
ReplyDeleteSerene days , between the end of a year and the beginning of an other .
ReplyDeleteThat peachy sky is just so lovely.
ReplyDeleteBy seeing the beauty yourself, you share it with all of us. And your Ontario clearly has it's share of great beauty at every season.
ReplyDeleteAll the best!

Lovely pictures. Yes,it has been a mild December, until today.
ReplyDeleteThat's something I don't see much around here- people out walking around..it's kind of sad actually. Lovely shot of the swans and geese.
ReplyDeleteOur weather has been warm and gray as well, but yesterday it was 60 degrees and sunny. Everyone was out and about enjoying the day!!
ReplyDeleteThat's an unusual lighthouse for me, but I really like it!!
Think I'd like a walk there, too! Thanks for the happy view.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful place to get a little fresh air! Love the lighthouse shot! We've been overcast and dreary here for several days! Ready for some sunshine!
ReplyDeleteNice shot of the birds! The swans are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIt's cold here at last, yay! Snow in the Northeast of France (and I'm on holiday in the Northwest of France...) Nice images of the last week of the year. Already!
ReplyDeleteIt does look like a lovely area in which to walk.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed viewing all your images. Love those swans!
ReplyDeleteI like the image of the lighthouse!! I wish I could get out someplace interesting to walk...
ReplyDeleteThe weather seems outright balmy there.
ReplyDeleteNice shots. I like the second one best.
ReplyDeleteTemperate weather in winter is almost a celebration. It may not be the time for shorts and sun hats, but people welcome an opportunity to get outside. I for one took a hour's walk today in the rain...
ReplyDeleteNice shots.
ReplyDeleteIt has been gray and gloomy here but no rain today. So I'll take it. LOL!

LOVE that first photo :)
ReplyDeleteIt's all so brown now! I'd love to go for a drive, but we have an appointment for a CT Scan. Which is a drive, I suppose, but not to the water.
ReplyDeleteHi Tina,
ReplyDeleteLovely photos of one of the biggest lakes I have actually seen in person. 10 minutes by foot from my old apartment in Hamilton, Ont.
Have a Beautiful Day!
Peace :)
What a great view of the lake from your side...I don't see this view often.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful captures!
