Paddling on Frenchman's Bay, December 27!
There was very little ice at the end of December and this athlete was exercising his muscles up and down the bay.
I admired his enthusiasm from the safely of the shore.

Thanks to the last few cold days they are now skating on the bay. I'll wait for thicker ice before I wander out.
ReplyDeleteI see he is the red, white and blue colours! Lovely reflections.
ReplyDelete7C in Haninge today so I'm sure there are a few people here doing the same.
ReplyDeleteMy enthusiasm for paddling in the winter diminishes with the water temperature. I admire his dedication. :-)

ReplyDeleteI think the safety of the shore, and not the cold water, is a great idea.

ReplyDeleteI imagine they are not a very good ice breaker.
ReplyDeleteNot the kind of water you want to be tipping over into!

ReplyDeleteLove the photos but I'm with you! I would watch from the safety of the shore.
ReplyDeleteLovely but surely cold, right? :-)
ReplyDeleteI have a friend who is also a wonderful photographer, and she just posted a great picture of some Ottawans enjoying a Polar Dip to start the new year. It definitely rivals this one for inscrutable behaviour in the middle of winter.
ReplyDeleteI would be right next to you on the shore ... can't imagine risking a fall into that very cold water. In the first reflection , it almost looks like he went right through the bottom of his kayak into the water ... Brrrr, parish the thought :( Fun Pictures ...
