Barn and chicken coop
Still winter here. The only noticeable sign of spring is the daylight hours that are becoming longer. That's a major plus as far as I'm concerned.
Some of you may recognize this barn and chicken coop as I have photographed them many times and posted them more than once. I like the weathered boards, the barn's stone foundation, the missing doors and boards on both, the chicken coop out in front facing the road and, this week, the snow on the roofs.
Snow on fence and spruce trees
Snow caught in pine needles
Somebody's home
I'm not sure who lives here but whoever it is wanted a bigger entrance way and is willing to do the reno.
Please visit Michelle at Rambling Woods for more NATURE NOTES.
I like your winter scenes. This one has been a real cold one.
ReplyDeleteYour winter snow scenes are gorgeous and I love the close up of the Pine needles.
ReplyDeleteMaybe a squirrel wanted a new home? Great shots as always.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous scenes, I love the bar, snow covered trees and the birdhouse shot..Have a happy Sunday!
ReplyDeleteBarns make great images in any season. These are great seasonal photos.
ReplyDeleteYour images are great. I love to observe how winter develops in various parts of the world. The barn is really neat!

I love that old barn! It's a beauty with it's weathered wood and stone foundation. I think a squirrel probably chewed that birdhouse doorway wider. It's hard to believe it's mid-February already.
ReplyDeleteI really like your snowy photos. I think the old barn is my favorite!
ReplyDeletei like that modified doorway. :) sweet barn and coop. lovely snow scenes.
ReplyDeleteGreat looking old barn. And that bird house is super cute.
ReplyDeleteLovely winter scenes, I love the super cute birdhouse
ReplyDeleteA beautiful set of photos. We are so buried in white. About 40cm on the ground.
ReplyDeleteI think it's an outstanding barn. It just exudes character.
ReplyDeleteNice shots in the snow! I wonder what bird did that? No snow here, but an ice storm is reportedly on the way.
ReplyDeleteOlá, Luz fica até a primavera chegar e voltar a ir embora, as fotos são o máximo, são uma beleza.

I like the birdhouse photo. Yes, it looks like your birds are doing a little remodeling! :)
ReplyDeleteHi EG CG, I am wishing you some spring weather. Still enjoying your winter photography though! John
ReplyDeleteLovely scenes, EG! Too cold to wander today no matter how long it is daylight! BRRR!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots! It's the same here- more daylight noticeable now, but very cold.
ReplyDeleteLove that barn, and the birdhouse reno is too funny.
ReplyDeleteWonderful captures as always! Such a great old barn!! That bird house is indeed so funny! I love it!! Hope you're enjoying your weekend and that you have a great new week -- camera in hand, of course!!
ReplyDeleteI agree the long hours of daylight are the only redeeming qualities of winter right now with all the snow and 30 below zero wind chills.
ReplyDeleteGreat winter shots. Looks calm and quiet in your shots. The barn and chicken coop look unused. Love the green pine needles with snow.
ReplyDeleteLovely winter scenes!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful winter mood . I know it must be hard for you , but winter makes so beautiful pictures !
ReplyDeleteDo you want to know one of the main reasons I like opening your posts? Because so many times, while I sit here feeling all spent and sorry for myself, that my winter is getting to me, and then you present for us, lovely photos, from a wonderful-winter-wonderland.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful barn shot.
ReplyDeleteI heard it's been VERY cold there. Hope you are staying safe and warm. Love these beautiful winter scenes.
ReplyDeleteNice home for bird, it looks a new model :)
ReplyDeleteI like your winter photos. We have unusual winter, not so much snow as usually, and not so cold.
Oh I like the snow and pine needles photo.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful winter scenes, I love them. By now I don't want any winter anymore for myself, but looking at yours is just fine :)

I've been looking for a home just like that!
ReplyDeleteLovely winter scenes, my favorite is the last one!
ReplyDeleteI did recognize the barn and coop; it looks even more abandoned in the middle of all that winter. All your pictures are lovely though.
ReplyDeleteI love all these, EG. I always love barns with stone foundations...but I love 'Somebody's home,' too.
ReplyDeleteGosh, how gorgeous, even if it is a bit cold!
ReplyDeleteGreat winter series.
ReplyDeleteGreat scenes though you have my sympathy about your l-o-n-g winter. I can see why you return to this barn.
ReplyDeleteI've been tracking sunrise and sunset times since the solstice. It's not dark here now until close to 6 p.m. It feels like we're finally getting some days of decent length again.
These are some stunning winter views. The birdhouse has a lot of character.
ReplyDeleteThe barn is just lovely.
ReplyDeleteA woodpecker EG? Wonderful winter images.
ReplyDeleteIt's so pretty in your neck of the woods. We are headed into an early spring. We've had temps in the 60's. That's so unusual for this time of year.
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful wintery shots! Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful wintery shots! Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos! I loving the chicken coop, we do see a few of those around here not being used anymore.
ReplyDeletelovely Winter scenes!
ReplyDeleteI do appreciate the lengthening days as well.
I like longer daylight, too. Love the snow bits on the green pine needles.
ReplyDeleteYes...longer days and some sunshine goes a long way to making me smile. I love old barns and wonder of their stories.. Hmmm..I am wondering what was trying to get into that nesting box. It is cold and it would be warmer in there...Michelle
ReplyDeleteThis barn is such a draw to a photographer's eye, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteI would guess a squirrel looking for a new home, and with such a beautiful view, who could blame him!! xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful winter scenes. I had small nesting boxes that woodpeckers enlarged but they weren't big enough for them. Next we put up larger ones for woodpeckers which the squirrels enlarged and took over. Prime real estate being taking over.
ReplyDeleteLovely winter views Tina:-)
ReplyDeleteGreat Photos!
