Vertical View of the wall entering the harbour
Never be so focused on what you are looking for that you overlook the thing you actually find.
~ Ann Patchett
I took the photo because I was interested in the vertical lines, the ice just above the water and the reflection. It was a lovely sunny day.
Horizontal view, contrast increased
I was surprised to see how the brown became redder when the colour contrast was increased. Lots of rust!
Cropped, tilted and filter added

ReplyDeleteVery nice photos. I would notice these things too, and probably take photos of them. That's what we do. :)
ReplyDeletevery cool layers of lines!
ReplyDeleteI like how you played with this. You turned okay into great. And I was just perusing some photography quotes and happened upon the same one by Ann Patchett.
ReplyDeleteOooh, I like how you played with that cool photo - and - the opening quote? Exactly what i needed to read . . Thank you So Much.
ReplyDeleteLove the quote and the lines and patterns in your shots.
ReplyDeleteWonderful!
ReplyDeleteFascinating images, I like those lines too and everything you described. Great shots!
ReplyDeleteYes the vertical lines in the first shot are quite fascinating. I rather like the horizontal version better though. I tend to take most of my photos that way for some reason. Absolutely love your last version. Abstractand yet you can still tell what it is.
ReplyDeleteInteresting to look at the same photo in different ways. You're reminding me I tend to get stuck in my regular routines.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots and definitley looks COLD! Love your differing perspectives on this
ReplyDeleteStrong patterns.
ReplyDeleteIt is so cool the way the frost has coated the bottom of it, that is my favorite part!
ReplyDeleteThe repetitive pattern is rather soothing in this photo.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting!
ReplyDeleteNice lines!

I like the abstractness of these shots.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot, love a lot.
ReplyDeleteHave a happy weekend.
Once the lines become bold and the colour enriches, the result is an intriguing piece of abstract art. I like the original too.
ReplyDeleteLove the strong lies and reflection and the edited second shot
ReplyDeleteMust have been the fences that I missed this one. :)
ReplyDeleteJust love this with all the lines and patterns :))
Have a fine day

I like the first one so much. it has 10 horizontal lines, stacked on each other, and some are vertical though horizontal. perfect photo for this meme. and beautiful and interesting to look at
ReplyDeletehm, the tilted oen imediately made it much more interesting. I like that :)
ReplyDeleteLoved the quote...you have a great eye for patterns♪
ReplyDeleteIn the horizontal view, if you look at just the bottom of the picture, at first glace it looks like a bunch of snowy boots lined up all neat and tidy!
ReplyDeleteI just LOVE what you did here...all of them. Reminds me of the inside of a piano too.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots!
