Whitby Harbour Wall

Vertical View of the wall entering the harbour

Never be so focused on what you are looking for that you overlook the thing you actually find.
~ Ann Patchett

I took the photo because I was interested in the vertical lines, the ice just above the water and the reflection. It was a lovely sunny day.

 Horizontal view, contrast increased

I was surprised to see how the brown became redder when the colour contrast was increased. Lots of rust!

Cropped, tilted and filter added

  10. Yes the vertical lines in the first shot are quite fascinating. I rather like the horizontal version better though. I tend to take most of my photos that way for some reason. Absolutely love your last version. Abstractand yet you can still tell what it is.

  17. Once the lines become bold and the colour enriches, the result is an intriguing piece of abstract art. I like the original too.

  23. In the horizontal view, if you look at just the bottom of the picture, at first glace it looks like a bunch of snowy boots lined up all neat and tidy!
