Blue Skies & Melting Snow

Bond Head

I'm loving the sunshine and blue skies!

Pacing, waiting for the ice to melt

These two Canada Geese were walking back and forth in front of this branch. Geese are claiming their territories, honking ferociously to keep others away.

  3. That does look like a seasons end shot - our leaves are picking up some colour now, so maybe the seasons are turning.

  4. February was such a month cold that now 8°C feels like heatwave. I had some red wing black birds in my backyard last week. In my area they are one of the first birds to return from the south.

  6. I love how the snow is gradually melting away and the gardens are coming back into view. Just need a bit of warmth now to get rid of the rest of the dirty snow.

  7. I think it's neat the way the geese pairs will claim their pond even while it's still frozen.

  31. Isn't it wonderful to see the snow melting! We are in heavy melt down here in Michigan. The shores of the Great Lakes are freeing up once again. I love seeing the birds arrive and watching their behavior. I heard some Canada geese going over yesterday- a sure sign of spring in our area!
