Mink on some Lake Simcoe rocks
Serendipity at work, the mink and I were in the same place at the same time. Actually, my husband saw it first.
Wondering what that clicking sound was
It posed for my camera for a little while...
Leaving the scene
then headed for cover, a hole between rocks.
I am linking to Saturday Critters HERE.
wow!! amazing shots of the mink!! CUTE!!
ReplyDeletei've never seen one in person...ferrets, yes...and otters, yes...but never a mink! and he stayed to pose for you! a very good day.

ReplyDeleteAmazing captures; I'm in awe!
ReplyDeleteinteresting, for some reason I thought they would be grey or black? Never seen one in real life.
ReplyDeleteCaught! :-)
ReplyDeleteThat is a great capture! Wow. It's so cute.
ReplyDeleteSeems like he’s very sensitive to sounds... I think the mink is a species closely associate with river otter as it resembles the same.
ReplyDeleteWow- good captures! I've never seen one up close before.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful gift for you! Thanks for sharing!

ReplyDeleteThese are fantastic. I don't think I've ever seen a mink, I don't think. Other than around a woman's neck.

ReplyDeleteQuite a beautiful critter. I've never seen one in the wild. Otters, yes, but not these.
ReplyDeleteYou are an amazing photographer!
ReplyDeleteWOW!!!! He is CUTE! But he needs to hide all the time so he does not turn into a coat. Are there restrictions on mink hunting now? Thanks to you and your husband for a rare treat today!
ReplyDeleteYou are an amazing photographer indeed!!! Love this little guy! What a cutie!! Thanks for a great smile to start my day/weekend, as always!! Hope you have a great one!!
ReplyDeleteI am surprised you were able to get these intimate portraits of a wild mink. These animals are usually quite shy. That first image is stunning.
ReplyDeleteCute critter and a great sighting.. I have never seen one before.. Great photos.. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Have a happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteJust love this encounter! What great photos!
ReplyDeleteThe only wild one I have seen was running about the ferry docks while I was waiting to go to the Toronto Islands. He was an urban mink foraging for food! ;-)
ReplyDeleteThey are just so darn cute!
ReplyDeleteCute face nice fur. Great picture.
ReplyDeleteThat is very cool, EG. I don't think I have ever seen a live mink.
ReplyDeleteWow, Sandra from Mad Snapper told me about your Mink. Absolutely adorable and great photos!
ReplyDeleteHow exhilarating to capture a photo of an elusive creature that is not often seen in public!
ReplyDeleteAwe, so cute! Don't you just want to give that round face a great big hug? You and hubby are sooo lucky. Thanks taking such great pictures of it.
ReplyDeleteWonderful pictures, well done, such a cute chap or girl of course..
ReplyDeleteAwesome shots! You captured him beautifully.
ReplyDeletewhat a cutie! I'm glad that I never owned a mink coat.
ReplyDeleteNice shots.
ReplyDeleteThese were a feral pest back in the UK when I was a kid - not a popular animal.
Seeing a wild one, that would be different.
Cheers - Stewart M - Melbourne
He has a sweet face.
ReplyDeleteWow How lucky to come across him and he giving you a pose too. I don't think I've ever seen a Mink before .

ReplyDeleteHe certainly is lovely and shiny.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots. Not an animal that is seen very often.
What a beautiful animal. I am no member of PETA but the mink's coat looks better on him than anybody else.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! I've never seen a live mink. It's so cute. Seems horrible that my mom's generation proudly sported their mink stoles and coats...
ReplyDeletethere are Minks in Sweden but I have never ever seen them up close like this. Only like a shadow far off . Thanks for sharing. :)
