Back wheels on old manure spreader
Oh, I bet some of you thought I was going to show you photos of an old politician, didn't you? (I'm just kidding, right?)
Longer view
This is one of two manure spreaders on a country road near me. I'm not sure why a farmer would need two so maybe someone out there can enlighten me.

Good Morning! Great photos and I laughed at your play on words!
ReplyDeleteMy compliments to the farmer that does the spreading. :)
ReplyDeleteYou captured these antiques very well.
ReplyDeleteLOL! One is for spare parts????...:)JP
ReplyDeleteI've never seen a manure spreader.. I would have to go around with a clothes pin on my nose.. Happy Monday!
ReplyDeleteA first for me to see a Manure Spreader and a rusty one at that. Great fine!
ReplyDeleteWhy is rusty so cool?! :-) Great find.
ReplyDeleteReally lovely views from the countryside.

Wonderful shots of decay and rust. Makes me wonder about the people who had used them.
ReplyDeleteIt is both funny and sad that we all understand exactly what you mean by the politician joke. I wonder if this important piece of farming equipment operates nearly as often and as well. :)
ReplyDeleteRusty old things are always beautiful and make great pictures !
ReplyDeleteThat's a new one for me- I thought it was an old hay baler! I love rusty old antiques!
ReplyDeleteMaybe he needed a spare in case one got too rusty!
ReplyDeleteHe needs two cos he has a lot of you know what to spread! Does this even work? It looks too far gone. Perhaps just a garden ornament now.
ReplyDeleteLoved your comment re: the comparison to a politician. :) That's a great old rusty piece of equipment.
ReplyDeleteA great rusty piece and I got a chuckle out of your sense of humor.

Easy. Politicians have LOTS of crap to spread around over fields and such...
ReplyDeleteThat is one cool, rusty worker, and very cool to see!
ReplyDeletevery cool old piece of equipment!
ReplyDeleteNice shot! That manure spreader looks pretty clean for a manure spreader! As my father is a welder who does a lot of ag repair, we see a few once in a while--they're his least favorite projects.
ReplyDeleteLove your play on words this morning and I do SO agree!! Just the giggle I needed to start the day!! Great captures a always! Hope you have a fun, wonderful week -- camera in hand, of course!!!
ReplyDeleteLove rusty old stuff, it's so photogenic! Great shots.
ReplyDeleteI love that faint blue color.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the farmer is a collector of old and beautiful rusty things.. i love it. and we have enough Old Manure Spreaders in Washington DC to cover the US and Canada several times.
ReplyDeleteI think he should fill it with flowers! Or with something pretty. It could be a great piece of yard decoration.
ReplyDeleteI really like these. It's neat get photos of "olden" days machinery. Yes, nice play on words too! :)
ReplyDeleteHa, ha, a politician. So true eh? Love, love the pictures!
ReplyDeleteGood one, EG! ;-))
ReplyDeleteRusty but picturesque!
ReplyDeleteRust is a loved by any photographer, so maybe the farmer had photography as a hobby?
ReplyDeleteAmazing how scenic old rusted farm machines can be! Even manure spreaders.
ReplyDeleteHe probably needed two because he has a very large farm. Things like this you don't think of until you see it and then you realize, yeah they need implement to spread manure :)
ReplyDeleteHoped your Easter was great.
Wonderful vintage shots~ very creative and fun post too!
ReplyDeleteHappy Week to you,
artmusedog and carol
This has aged into a fine beauty!
ReplyDeleteThat first shot is a cracker. Isn't it strange how much appeal rusty objects have for us?! Thanks for sharing, Tina
ReplyDeleteGreat first picture, even a muck spreder with all its rust can be photogenic....
ReplyDeleteGood rusty shots.
ReplyDeleteNice find.
ReplyDeleteI am impressed that you knew that is a manure spreader.
ReplyDeleteI don't like rust in real life but it certainly photographs well :-)

I wonder if the farmer still has an acute sense of smell.
ReplyDeleteI think Birdman hit the nail right on the head EG :) there's something incredibly photogenic about rusty objects !
ReplyDeleteIt certainly does make for a good photo subject!
ReplyDeleteThese old machines seem so romantic to me !
ReplyDeleteYou've just reminded me that I once fell into a heap of manure...
ReplyDeleteHoly crap! I don't know about the farmers but the politicians have perfected the art of manure spreading - they don't need any machines!
ReplyDeleteWonderful rust shots...
