Cattle on Carden Alvar, Kirkfield, Ontario
The cattle here were far more interested in foraging than looking up for a photo.
Heads still down
I hope they are eating just grass as the blue flowers (Viper's Bluegloss. Echium vulgare) can make them sick.
Viper's Bugloss
A pretty flowering plant but in some places, such as Washington State, it's considered invasive.

I am linking to Saturday Critters HERE.
To cattleeatingismore important than a photo call! Lovely shots adn that blue flower inthere meadow is very pretty. Have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteReally wonderful landscape and photos.
ReplyDeleteLindas fotos e lugar! bjs, chica
ReplyDeleteI can just imagine their mothers reminding them not to eat the flowers, just the grass. :-)
ReplyDeleteFabulous colours, I love it..
ReplyDeleteA most lovely spot for them to wander about! Very pretty photos!
ReplyDeletesome of the most beautiful plants in the world are the ones that are invasive.. this is beautiful and love those cows.
ReplyDeleteWere they eating the bugloss or just around it. Whatever, it looks pretty here, and along with the cows makes a nice scene.
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of our pastures of bluebonnets in the spring. But I've never seen a cow eating one. I think they must be bitter.
ReplyDeleteI guess the cows do not care about the beautiful flower...
ReplyDeleteThose blue flowers certainly look like a tasty treat. I wonder how easy it would be to avoid them because it looks like the grass is covered with them. How the cattle are pretty savvy about their meals!
ReplyDeleteThis looks so peaceful.
ReplyDeletepretty but not so friendly. :) both the blooms and the cattle.
ReplyDeleteHello, wonderful captures of the cattle and the pretty flowers. I hope they are not eating those flowers! Thank you in advance for sharing with my critter party today. Have a happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteThey might have been waiting for your "say cheese".
ReplyDeleteWhat pretty wildflowers!
ReplyDeleteThe wildflowers are pretty. The cows seem content.
ReplyDeleteIt is pretty and also invasive as you said. One can see that it is taking over the whole pasture there.

What a very lovely field!
ReplyDeleteIt looks lovely and peaceful and your photos as wonderful as always!! I do hope the cows ignore the beautiful flowers -- beautiful, but as you wrote, they are invasive! Hope your weekend is off to a beautiful start!! Enjoy!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots. The cows add an even more peaceful element to these pictures.
ReplyDeleteJust a gorgeous landscape !!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures !
Greetings
The flowers do look lovely in that meadow, EG! I guess the cows know better than to eat them.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking something must be really tasty for the cows to not even look up! Or else they are used to photographers!
ReplyDeleteThe blue flower makes the 1st two photos look like watercolor paintings.
ReplyDeleteNice find!
Have a Wonderful Day, Tina!!
Peace :)
This is a sight I'm not used to seeing - had to look up Carden Alvar, and now know it is a rare thing!
ReplyDeleteSo amazing! Such a beautiful scenery!
ReplyDeleteThe purple flowers do make for a beautiful scene.
ReplyDeleteWe do have lots of invasive plants, and even toxic grazing plants, in Washington state, but I haven't seen that one here, but it is on the weed list. it's too bad it so pretty but toxic at the same time. The red stamens are cute with the blue petals. Hopefully the cattle can discriminate.
ReplyDeleteHope them aware about these unhealthy blue flowers! Although, they are beautiful
ReplyDeleteI should imagine there's been a sick cow or two over the years EG.. Such a pretty wee flower, pretty but noxious!
ReplyDeleteMaybe poisonous, but so pretty!
ReplyDelete~
Beautiful animals! They're busy eating. They don't have time to pose.
ReplyDeleteI'm just watching a BBC period drama, these scenes look like they would fit in perfectly!
ReplyDeleteI have found that it is generally the case that bovines tend to avoid posing for the camera. Especially when chomping on grass, chewing their cud and producing milk! ;)
ReplyDeleteI am loving those blue flowers!
