Blue-gray Gnatcatcher

 Blue-gray Gnatcatcher (Polioptila  caerulea)

Tiny and lively, Blue-gray Gnatcatchers are constantly on the move! This is very likely a female in search of spiders and insects.

Another view

These gnatcatchers are expanding their breeding range northward so I have been lucky enough to see one or two in each of the past three years.
I am connecting to Stewart M's Wild Bird Wednesday HERE

  24. Pretty cool birds, huh? Here in winter we have all 3 species! They can be tricky at times to tell apart but their calls and coverts underneath the tail really differentiate them. Lovely bird....and vocal!

  26. What a pretty little bird...yet another I don't think I've seen.
(Re: your eagle comment - it was one of my best sightings. I'm sure you would have really enjoyed it, too. Before I shot the single one it was flying with an immature that was squawking like crazy and then they parted company.)
