Dragonflies are wonderful creatures. They are successful in their hunts 85-90 percent making them the single more successful and deadly hunter on the planet. The prey? Often mosquitoes, so I'm delighted to see them around. This seems like a good year for them.
The dragonflies I see in my yard have black bands on their wings, I don't know if they are this species or something else. That's a great shot of the wings from above and the black and white spots.
