Delaware Skipper
Who says orange and pink clash? These orange skippers actually prefer pink as well as white flowers over other colours! Here, however, this one is sitting contentedly on a green leaf and even stayed there long enough...
Another view
for me to move a bit and take its photo from the back.
I am linking to Saturday Critters HERE.
Linda foto! Ótimo fim de semana! bjs, chica
ReplyDeleteIt is a pretty skipper, great captures and post. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Have a happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteExcellent capture over there from both the angles!
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love those antennae? :-)
ReplyDeleteI can never get those darned butterflies to keep still long enough to take photos. Must practice more. Yes, it's been a strange year for birds here too this year - possibly one of the worst ever breeding seasons due to cool, wet and wind.
ReplyDeletewhat a beautiful butterly. never sen one of those here. Have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteI'll have to keep my eyes open for those, I did not know that were called skippers.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to have a cooperative model every now and then.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to rethink my feelings about orange and pink. It get challenged every Fall when the Crepe Myrtles leaves turn orange while they still have their pink blooms.
ReplyDeleteYou are so handsome Skipper!
ReplyDeleteAwesome capture! Skipper is very delicate! I enjoyed seeing these close ups!
ReplyDeleteAh, very cooperative indeed and you did get great shots of the Skipper! I do love the colors and your captures never fail to take my breath away!! Have a lovely weekend, EG!!
ReplyDeleteSuperb captures.
ReplyDeleteQuite distinctive!
ReplyDeletePretty butterfly!
ReplyDeleteThere were so many of these guys around when I was a kid - it really takes me back when I see them.
ReplyDeleteYou are a never-ending source of wonder!
ReplyDeleteSo very cute! :)
ReplyDeleteHmmmm lovely. They never stay put for me!
ReplyDeleteThere's one in every crowd. I hoped you yelled something like this at it:
ReplyDelete"Pink, dummy, or white, never orange! Sheesh!"
very pretty.
ReplyDeleteVery nice. So many kinds of skippers!
ReplyDelete~
We have quite a variety of skippers in Florida, and I often need help to sort them out. Then I forget their names and must start all over, like introducing myself to an old friend.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful butterly !
ReplyDeleteYour skipper photos are so excellent, such great details. I just whip out my cell phone in the yard when I see one. I'll have to try taking my camera out and stalking one.
ReplyDeleteA real beauty ...there are no clashing colors in nature ... I'd love to see this one on its favorite color flower , tho she's lovely on green too!
ReplyDeleteGreat images!
ReplyDeleteYou've managed to nicely capture its furryness. How nice that it was enjoying the sunny day.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photo!!! xx
ReplyDeleteFabulous captures! They never sit still long enough for me to get photos of them.
