Old Barn
This barn, although it has seen better days, is still being used for housing cattle. I watched the cattle head for a distant back field but was too slow to capture them in the photo!
A little close view
As you can see, this building has lots of "air-conditioning" vents for this hot day but it must be rather chilly in winter.
Great shots of the old barn. I hope the cattle are safe living in this barn, it looks like it needs some loving care all around! Happy Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great barn with lots of 'character' showing in its years.
ReplyDeleteAn artistic photo but it doesn't look like a very comfortable winter shelter.
ReplyDeletethe AC vents make it beautiful.. i love the ratty old rustic look of both, i think the little one is so cute
ReplyDeleteLooks like the whole thing could blow over in a good strong breeze. I do like the look of it though,

A wonderful old barn! Love the pictures with sunshine and the barn could be a spot used in movies!

The rust helps makes it look very picturesque!
ReplyDeleteI love that. That old red roof is awesome against the gray weathered wood.
ReplyDeleteSimple beautiful.
ReplyDeleteIt is very picturesque!
ReplyDeleteMakes for a super image EG but oh my a strong strong wind and it looks like it could be all over red rover :)
ReplyDeleteBoa tarde, belas fotos com todos detalhes do celeiro, a cor é magnifica.

I love your photos of the old barn. Still plenty of life in it yet.
ReplyDeleteOh, yes! I love your photos of this old barn, too!! I'm not sure I'd want to spend the winter inside -- if I were a cow -- or any creature for that matter!! You do find such wonderful places to photograph!! Thanks as always for sharing!! Have a great week!!
ReplyDeleteI wonder just how many days that barn has seen!
ReplyDeleteIt's a bit tipsy too.
ReplyDeleteMB
I wonder how long it has left.
ReplyDeleteWonderful old places! Love how the shingles are peeling away on the smaller barn!
ReplyDeleteThe first thing I thought of was winter! How do the poor things handle that with all the air conditioning?
ReplyDeleteThat's a fine old barn you got there. I love the orangey red patina of the metal roof and the graysih color of the siding. The building in the foreground looks like it has some split cedar or something siding. That old fence is nice also.
ReplyDeleteI think the cows ought to be fitted with those construction helmets...this place looks about read to collapse on top of them!
ReplyDeleteFantastic rustic shots with wonderful texture!
ReplyDeleteHappy Week to you,
artmusedog and carol
Kauniit kuvat vanhasta rakennuksesta !
ReplyDeleteI love old barns. Bit this one will collapse at any moment, hopefully the animals are then outdoors.
ReplyDeleteLovely shots.
Hmm yes the barn is nie bt I like baby barn even better!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, it looks like a good strong wind would blow this one over.
ReplyDeleteMust be a very draughty cattle shed; they'd probably be warmer and certainly safer outside!
ReplyDeleteNice shots! I love pics of old barns :-)
ReplyDeletepretty old thing.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots! I love those old barns.
ReplyDeletewouldn't you just love to know how old it is? Who was the first to build and use it, and how many horses and cattle and children did they have? and I wonder was that the house originally?
ReplyDeleteI totally forgot to say that I do love this shot...I love the atmosphere.
ReplyDeletei love a good old barn. rust is a good thing! ha. ha!!! ( ;
ReplyDeleteIt has a lot of character.
ReplyDeleteIt is wonderful! I love seeing places like this. How amazing that it is still being used.
ReplyDeleteI do hope they find a different place for the cattle in winter. The barn makes great pictures though.
ReplyDeleteCanada, winter, holes in the barn--that DOES sound cold. :-)
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a good wind would easily take down the bigger barn. It may not provide well insulated protection in winter but it's probably better than nothing (as long as it doesn't collapse on the critters).
ReplyDeleteGood thing the cows haven't a clue as to the peril they live under.
ReplyDeleteIt's very homey, but I'm sure the cows don't mind.
ReplyDelete~
I shiver to think of a winter night spent inside!

=^..^=
Yes that's true in winter it is probably not an ideal place for the cattle, but to me this barn looks so romantic !
ReplyDeleteThere's something beautiful about these old barns. I hope the cattle stays warm. I guess they have each other to huddle with.
ReplyDeleteI wonder about these barns. They are beautiful, but so sad seeing them fall apart.
ReplyDeleteIn fact the 'vents' must be worrying in winter...
ReplyDeleteI guess those cows are no strangers to precipitation!
ReplyDelete;)
Hard to believe it's still working barn. Even in winter?
