Farm on thin soil with rock outcroppings
Some days are absolutely perfect for being out & about and yesterday was one of them! It was Thanksgiving here but we had celebrated with family on Sunday. Although the major highways were busy, not so the country roads north and west of Orillia near Georgian Bay. Staghorn sumacs were vivid oranges and reds, and the maples were beginning to copy them.
This old farmhouse seemed to be roofed and painted with autumn colours in mind.

The countryside looks so good in the October sunshine. I'm glad to say that very few people travel on our backroads either.

ReplyDeleteIt is a gorgeous fall view. I love the hidden-away aspect of this place. Mysterious, almost. Rocky thin soil is what my grandparents dealt with in northern Minnesota on their farm. Not easy to grow crops in that stuff.
ReplyDeleteIt was an appropriately glorious weekend for TG. The other shoe dropped today. :)
