T/Twisted

 Grapevine

Grapevines twist themselves as they grow to anchor themselves...and wild ones can be a real pain to cut out of trees and shrubs. Yep, I can tell you all about that!

 'The Knot" by Fly Freeman

This is one of several sculptures donated by local sculptors to the Town of Uxbridge, Ontario.

Christmas lights

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

  6. Do I see a bit of frost on that gnarled grape vine? At first , I thought the sculpture was actually a cut tree. The sculptor really fooled me. And, yes, it is beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

  19. So, you're saying, to drink the wine you've got to untangle the vine? Back about 1960-61 we lived in Scottsdale, Arizona. There was a vineyard a few miles away. You could pick your own red and white grapes - for 5 cents a pound, or you could pay to have them picked and bagged for you for 10 cents a pound.

I don't think you find that's the case anymore. :)

BTW, are you making fun of me just 'cause sometimes I get tongue-twisted? ;)

  24. I am tying knots, putting a dummy warp on my loom. Almost 500 of them, - I don't like to contemplate knots, but admire your grapevine.

  32. My mom and dad used to have grapevines in the back yard. When they would trim the vines after summer, they would twist the stems into wreaths to decorate for the holidays. Guess that's twisted twists. - Margy
