This morning My husband and I visited friends who have a pond on their property
.
Seen from the island to northern shore of pond
LOOK! No ice yet!
Weeds, pond in background
This is a little dark because the sun kept coming out and going in.
Peeling birch
One of the joys of this time of year is seeing the natural peeling of birch bark.

I am also linking to NATURE NOTES.
It was 87 degrees on my hike yesterday. Argh. Where's 'winter'?
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed your shots.
very pretty golds abound.
ReplyDeleteSo much golden light, it almost looks like summer...
ReplyDeleteA lovely spot. The peeling bark is my favourite shot among these.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful as always and such a great little bridge!! Our weather in Oregon is amazingly mild for this time of year, too!! Hope you have a great new week!! Enjoy!!
ReplyDeleteThe second one is my favourite, it's gorgeous. So what happened to the white fluffy stuff?
ReplyDeleteThe weather is definitely odd this year....maybe some winter will show its face all too soon tho.
ReplyDeleteLovely property. I wish I had a pond!!
Nature is one of life's awesome wonders. You captured it beautifully on your friend's property. It is springlike here too. Enjoying it while it lasts :)
ReplyDeleteWay, too mild, I think.
ReplyDeleteI really like all the weeds and grasses, beautiful to me and we are unseasonable to...
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you are enjoying the mild December weather!
ReplyDeleteA very pleasant day to be out and about enjoying the beauty around! Love the birch bark peeling!
ReplyDeleteCreative nature shots! Love the bridge!
ReplyDeleteWishing you the magic and love of the season,

Looks like you're still having beautiful autumn weather. We just got our first major snow storm! Happy Christmas!
ReplyDeleteVery nice images, pretty golden tones!! We are having record breaking warmth here at the jersey shore!!
ReplyDeleteYou certainly are enjoying beautiful weather there Tina. We are in storm mode tonight and tomorrow with ice pellets and freezing rain. I'm praying the power doesn't go out as it would be very dark, cold and lonely. Hubby is in PEI and may have to stay overnight! :(
ReplyDeleteLove your rendition of the weeds! Forgot that you can link on Monday for Nature Notes - I alwas do it on Tue.:) Happy week!
ReplyDeleteHasn't it been wonderful - although a bit of sun would be nice!
ReplyDeleteA nice collection of early winter images. I suspect that "real winter" will arrive with a vengeance before long.
ReplyDeleteI feel like I'm in some kind of a time warp with our everlasting October. Sure makes the driving easier, though. I like the frothy weeds and the birch bark blowin' in the wind.
ReplyDeleteThat's incredible that in the middle of December there is no ice.
ReplyDeleteWonderful shots around the pond.
ReplyDeleteThanks for reminding me of the birch paper!

Well...we had a skim of ice on our tiny seasonal pond this morning (it melted). I suppose dragonflies could have ice skated on it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty setting this is! Very nice shots!
Lovely photos. It's still ridiculously warm here. No snow yet.
ReplyDeleteLove your photos~~~without snow and ice. The birch tree is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLovely images!
ReplyDeleteYou have started out with a mild winter.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots.
If you do get snow, please keep it in Canada. We don't want any Canadian snow in Oklahoma please;)
Oh, what a nice series of photos...looks like a nice place to visit.
ReplyDeleteMild weather give you the chance to do these beautiful pictures.
ReplyDeleteSo no ice rink this year on the pond but it looks really nice.
ReplyDeleteMild is an understatement.
ReplyDeleteIndeed, it is a great and warm weather for walks in the nature! The pictures are amazing; the pond is like an invitation for admiring nature...
ReplyDeleteGreetings for december!
What a beautiful place for a walk around.
ReplyDeleteLove the birch trees and just wish we had some of those in Texas!
ReplyDeleteLovely captures from your world!
ReplyDeleteNo snow yet? I like all the grasses and seed heads. It doesn't look like you'll have a white Christmas!
ReplyDeleteGreat photo of the peeling bark. I suppose there is still time for a white Christmas.
ReplyDeleteIt's the same here in Sweden...
ReplyDeleteBoth autumn and winter has been very mild so far. Today we had some frost and even that made me happy! ;-)
nice shots, but..... seem like the weather we have too. One day a degre below zero, nest day 10 degree above. Tomorrow we are expecting temperature records for warmest december in decades.
ReplyDeleteWow.... No ice at all..... Not here either... Love birch bark Tina... Michelle
