Two Equals One - Maybe

Picket to the right and rail to the left

There are two fences at the entrance to this farm: a picket fence and a rail fence, and neither one is fencing anything in as there is no fence on the driveway side until behind the barn.

A different view of the barn and driveway

  3. They make for great fence photos anyway and the barn is pretty perched on the rise.

  7. It is unusual to see 2 contrasting fences. The white fence looks pretty. It is a nice, well-kept place.

  11. Beautiful photos of the country setting along with the fences. Sometime I find fences like this too with no real reason but to just be there.
    Have a great day!

  17. It could be that the owner started putting up one kind of fence, then was called away and when she came back she forgot the first fence and started putting up the 2nd kind of fence, then was called away and she totally forgot both fences. Maybe?

  18. I guess it's demarcating the driveway to the lovely property. Nice barn too!

  22. I think the white fence looks out f place, it doesn't fit in with the beautifully rustic barn and silo.

  23. Even if it's not practical, it's pretty.

  24. An eye catcher and make you wonder what the idea was.

  26. I wonder if this is a concession to someone who'd always wanted a white picket fence.

    They're mental fences.

  28. A nice, well-kept farm. Usually we seem to have gates without fences either side, which is just as pointless.

  29. Very strange indeed but looking at the white one its the start of the fence that still have to come along the road.

  30. strange that they built it like that. The fences don´t match :)

  33. Fences for the sake of art, eh? Kind of delightful really.

  34. Nice looking place with it's 2 different fences. I'm guessing they are more for decor then functional.
