Picket to the right and rail to the left
There are two fences at the entrance to this farm: a picket fence and a rail fence, and neither one is fencing anything in as there is no fence on the driveway side until behind the barn.
A different view of the barn and driveway
I am linking to Good Fences HERE
Maybe the owner if fencing something out?
ReplyDeleteDuas belas fotografias.
ReplyDeleteUm abraço e continuação de uma boa semana.
They make for great fence photos anyway and the barn is pretty perched on the rise.
ReplyDeleteStrange!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful...I do like the lighting in both. That last one, with the perspectives...a stellar image!!
ReplyDeleteThat's an unusual mix EG, maybe a gate and side fence are still to come :)
ReplyDeleteHello, gorgeous view of the barn, fence and pretty sky! Great captures. Happy Thursday, enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteIt is unusual to see 2 contrasting fences. The white fence looks pretty. It is a nice, well-kept place.
ReplyDeleteVery unusual and pretty. Your composition and lighting is especially good! Have a great day. Jo
ReplyDeleteI like both the fences. Always good to mark a boundary.
ReplyDeleteAlmost a postcard, in the best sense of the term!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos of the country setting along with the fences. Sometime I find fences like this too with no real reason but to just be there.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Such a well kept barn! It is a beauty!
ReplyDeleteGood visit, thanks

Stop over from Biebkriebels. But the weather there in the photo sure looks nice...heading toward spring or fall.
ReplyDeleteIf you find the time stop on over at my blog...Coffee is on
Lovely farm scenes!
ReplyDeleteit is a wonderful old barn. maybe they had the rail, decided to replace it with white, and decided it was to expensive...
ReplyDeleteNeat photo of varied fences!
ReplyDeleteWishing you the magic and love of the season

It could be that the owner started putting up one kind of fence, then was called away and when she came back she forgot the first fence and started putting up the 2nd kind of fence, then was called away and she totally forgot both fences. Maybe?
ReplyDeleteI guess it's demarcating the driveway to the lovely property. Nice barn too!
ReplyDeleteSo white!
ReplyDeleteA lovely building isn't it. xx
ReplyDeleteThey are going for the effect, EG!
ReplyDeleteFunny how they chose two very different fence styles. Beautiful sky!!
ReplyDeleteThe pictures are so amazing!:)

I think the white fence looks out f place, it doesn't fit in with the beautifully rustic barn and silo.
ReplyDeleteEven if it's not practical, it's pretty.
ReplyDeleteA strange combination!
ReplyDeletekinda funny. leftovers. :)
ReplyDeleteAn eye catcher and make you wonder what the idea was.
ReplyDeleteThat is indeed thought provoking. :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
Both are great fences!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if this is a concession to someone who'd always wanted a white picket fence.
ReplyDeleteand neither one is fencing anything
ReplyDeleteThey're mental fences.
;-)
A nice, well-kept farm. Usually we seem to have gates without fences either side, which is just as pointless.
ReplyDeleteVery strange indeed but looking at the white one its the start of the fence that still have to come along the road.
ReplyDeletestrange that they built it like that. The fences don´t match :)
ReplyDeleteLove the pretty sky as well as the barns!
ReplyDeleteStrange placing for the fences.
ReplyDeleteIf they have livestock, I wonder how the honor system works? LOL
ReplyDeleteFences for the sake of art, eh? Kind of delightful really.
ReplyDeleteNice looking place with it's 2 different fences. I'm guessing they are more for decor then functional.
