Split Cedar Rail

 Split-cedar rail in winter

Truth be told, I like split-cedar rail fences any time of year but I think they are the most beautiful in winter when there's still a bit of snow clinging to the topsides.

  17. These split-rail fences are iconic in many parts of our countries. You've used them to great effect here in these two photos! The scene is bleak in its solitude, but is enchanting for that very reason!

  39. I do agree rail fences are the most beautiful, but I'm pretty sure they would not even slow my goats down. Well, maybe the big fat ones, but it wouldn't stop them. LOL
