Blue Heron/ Camera Critters

Squawking blue heron

The blue heron was sitting quietly on the dock while I took photos...until a man passed behind me looking for a fishing hole. When the heron took off I noticed that something had injured the bird's right wing.  It was quite noisy as it lifted into the air so I hope it wasn't complaining about its wing.

What a GREAT critter capture! I've seen a lot of white and blue herons around lately but haven't managed to photograph any yet...

Oh dear, I just realised the bird is damaged. Let's hope he makes it.

Excellent photo. I've captured them in trees and on foot, but not that well in the air.

Wonderful shot. I'm very envious as I rarely get details of herons in flight. This shows the wings so well.

The only thing to disturb the peace in this photo is his squawk and injured wing. Wonderful capture, EG.
