Mid October/ Nature Notes

October in Ontario

Ontario is still quite colourful in October. Starting with the largest square and moving clockwise: maples (not sure which kind) in full colour, a wild apple, Trichloma terreum(I think) mushroom, old man's beard (seed heads of Clematis virginiana), berries of mountain ash (Sorbus) and seed heads of cattails (Typha latifolia) turning to fluff.

Wonderful sights of Autumn. I always think of apples in the fall as well as the beautiful colors of the leaves.

Such wonderful visions of October in Ontario! Those are sugar maples for sure, and I also loved the total image that the collage represents. Thanks!

Very pretty. We aren't having a very colorful foliage season in New England.

"old man's beard" - I remember reading about this on a blog post before - was it on your blog? Anyhow, it is a curious looking find.

I would love a fresh apple right now.

Your apple made me think of a photo I wish I had. My husband told me this morning that the few leftover tree-picked apples I had left in a box on the deck (1.5 stories high) had apple cores strewn about the deck. Looks like a raccoon came all the way up to the sliding glass doors one night and ate my apples. Oh, I wish he had told me so I could have taken a photo of that!

what I especially love about these is there essential "organic-ness" with the natural flaws that make them all the more beautiful

What a super collage, EG. I think this is why Fall is such a great time of year. MB

Hey, thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment. I think that people felt sorry for Keats because he was slight of build, and sometimes rather feminine. He had a beautiful face, and dark, curly hair. I think he lived in a dream world most of the time.
Glad you enjoyed my post.
Your pictures of Ontario are beautiful. I have family in Ontario, incidentally.
