Early May/ Nature Notes

 Yellows, whites and purples

In the largest square, an American goldfinch wears its brilliant yellow spring feathers.  Working clockwise, daffodils are just now beginning to bloom in my gardens, another goldfinch at a feeder, the first of the pasque flowers (Trust me, there will be many more!) and the last of the hepatica (at least in one of my gardens).

Please visit Michelle at Rambling Woods for more NATURE NOTES.

Beautiful! I can't wait to see the tulips opened up here. I feel we're still behind in spring.

Fantastic flowers! I hope I get goldfinches at my feeder. What a beauty. :)

Terrific collage. Love both the flower and the bird. We're getting lots of goldfinches at our feeders this year which gladdens my heart as I watch them.

A delightful series of great yellows and contrasting purple. Nice close ups in all cases. Well done.

Looks like both western and eastern Canada have been splashed with the brillant colors of Spring. The buttery yellow bird is adorable. :)

The goldfinch is gorgeous! How nice to have it so close. Our daffodils have already faded.

It's interesting to me that you have goldfinch already. Your flowers are about 6 weeks behind mine at least in terms of daffodils which bloom here in March but I usually don't see goldfinch until summertime. Great shots!

The bright colors sing spring! Love the goldfinch and the flowers, too.

Wow what a lovely shot of that bird you got there, as if it really posed for you. We dont have goldfinches here but the yellows we have are the orioles. However, they are mostly on tall trees that my camera lens cannot fully magnify.
