Snake Island/ Watery Wednesday

Snake Island, Georgina, Ontario

Sunset is a beautiful time of day to visit Lake Simcoe. I have taken photos of this island before, part ot the Chippewas of Georgina Island First Nation, but I think from a slightly different angle.

By the way, the island is named after Chippewa Chief  Joseph Snake...not because there are a lot of snakes on the island.

I am linking to Watery Wednesday where you can find many more watery photos.

That's a lovely sunsetty sky. We haven't seen the sun much recently, just a whole lot of raindrops. I'm loking forward to some sunshine soon..... I hope!

Fairy Lake Park and Snake Island, naming is interesting.

This is a fantastic capture of a beautiful sunset. While watching, all the fatigues of the day will be melt away. Thank you for sharing.

The mild colors in the sky are very attractive and make a fine background for the house on the lake with such a nice view. A fine post.

Oh, thank goodness you explained the namesake. I had already decided to mark that off as one of the places to go to when I come visit! But I probably would have gone anyway after seeing this gorgeous picture.

Beautiful sunset! The house and mist give it a slightly gothic feel. Is that a lighthouse I see peeking out of the tree tops?

I would be nice to spend just one night there.

I missed this one. So serene. So nice to be sitting on the deck while the day slips away listening to the waves gently lap against the shore!
