Sauble Beach/ Watery Wednesday

Bicycling on Sauble Beach, Lake Huron, Ontario

Sunday afternoon less than hour till sunset, it was windy and the waves were tumbling into shore when two bicyclists  rolled along the waters edge.

FYI: In thee foreground you see some dried grass. I was climbing a sand dune when I saw the bicycles and snapped the shutter quickly to catch the riders.

Stopping to take a good look at the waves

I am linking to Watery Wednesday where you can find many more watery photos.

What a fun place to ride. Love these pictures...very pretty.

What fun! Only thing better would be to be riding on horses on the beach. The waves clearly indicate the windy weather.

I was once at Sauble beach and was amazed (as in disappointed) that cars are allowed to park on the beach, take up space and pollute the sand. For that reason I preferred the beach in Southampton just a few kilometres away.

well I'll be. I'm surprised that it's possible to ride a bike in sand. I suspect my own would sink? hmmmm. at any rate, I love the shot. it's a classic! happy day to you EG.

my fave is the first one.

That first shot is especially good...gotta wonder what they're doing out there...if it was cool and windy, it was probably pretty cold, and from the condition of the waves - windy!

I'd do anything to get this good angle! Actually the foreground (dried grass) sets the mood of great photography!

Matching jackets, just like some contestants in Amazing Race. So you watch it in Canada? I love it,

I love the layered colors you captured here--all sand and turquoise with froth. The grass "shadows" added additional interest to the top photo too.

I would never have thought of riding a bike on the sand. Must be nice off-road bikes (or whatever they're called). Lovely shots!
