Frequent Fliers

 Female goldfinch (Spinus tristus)

A goldfinch pair is often at our sunflower feeder. They always know when the feeder has been refilled so I suspect they hide out in one of our spruce trees. The female seems to be wondering "Are you looking at me?" Or perhaps she dropped a seed and is watching it fall.

Male goldfinch

The male here is hanging on to the wire above the feeder, a seed in his mouth.

Ptaki wiedzą, że o nie dbasz i czekają. Urocze zdjęcia. :)
Birds know that you do not care about and waiting. Charming photos. :)

We plant sunflowers along our utility shed and always have several of these beauties feeding later in the year. So far haven't seen any around the feeders. Beautiful!

Love the Goldfinches. We seem to have a least a trillion around this year. It is so pretty when they rise up out of the pear tree all at once. A curtain of Gold. MB

This reminds me. I should go to a bookstore and look over The Goldfinch. I hear good things about it, but I also hear it is very thick.
