Mid September

Around a favourite birdwatching pond

Although fall is in the air, many wildflowers are still blooming here.

Largest square: bumble bee on bull thistle (Cirsium vulgare). Working clockwise: New England aster (Symphyotrichum novae-angliae),  wild lobelia (Lobelia  syphilitica), tickseed sunflower (Bidens aristosa), frost aster (Symphyotrichum pilosum)  and goldenrod (Solidago).

FYI: The reason I include botanical names is because they always stay the same but common names change from region to region.

Beautiful collage ... Fall is such a colorful season. I admire that you take time to learn and share the "real" names of each flower.

The wild lobelia is a deep blue I don't see often, and I don't think we have any here. Your collage is wonderful!! And all going away in the fall, WAH!!!

September is good month for light and colour, and usually the most settled weather wise... at least in Llandudno. Great shots!

Lovely flowers, such a nice variety for fall. Bumblebees seem to really love thistles, the bees really go after my Cardoon flowers. I presently find myself dis-astered, some that bloomed for years all up and disappeared, and the ones I bought last year didn't seem to come back. I have some that I raised from seed so maybe they will bloom next year. I miss them in the fall, the lovely purple color.
