Bluebead Lily/ Macro Monday
The bluebead lily (Clintonia borealis) grows in cool woods and open mountain slopes in Eastern Canada and as far south as Georgia. This plant bears one blossom and one bud, but each stalk may bear as many as eight blossoms.
In case you’re wondering where the blue bead on this bluebead lily is, in midsummer a cluster of shiny dark-blue berries will ripen atop the stalk where the blossom and bud are now.
Please note: Today's Flowers is the post below.

Remarkable. I am not familiar with this gorgeous one. I don't think it grows out here.
ReplyDeleteTo answer your question about riding. All my girls started gaming when they were 5 yrs. They loved it and their ponies did too. (I think) I always said they rode before they were born. LOL Kylee is my Grand-daughter---I think you knew that though.
This is great...and I loved the information about the bluebeads...do you have any photos of those?
ReplyDeleteVery nice! Drops of water on a flower always perks me up!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful lily, EG. We have lots of lilies that are budding. They should bloom in about a month or sooner.
ReplyDeleteHave a great Monday.

Betsy
I deleted my first comment because it got sent before I was finished typing. . .
ReplyDeleteSuper! I only wish you had the Bluebead shot too -- hopefully later on we will get to see one! Love your macro with the water droplets.
I see I have missed a couple others so going to go down read and comment now.
Awesome macro capture. Love the water-drops.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week! :)
This spring seemed to take longer than EVER, but so glad it's here. THanks for sharing the adorable little flower shot.
ReplyDeleteI can honestly say I have never heard of a bluebeard lily, nice macro.
ReplyDeleteHow neat! I often see berries and wonder what the blooms look like. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat shot... I'll have to look out for these little flowers on my walks in the woods.
ReplyDeleteMagnificent flower shots for both entries! I always love it even more when there are some raindrops. Have a great day :)
ReplyDeleteA wonderful flower. I love the drops of water on it !
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful macro and I love it!
ReplyDeleteThe rain droplets are just incredible!! I love it!!
ReplyDeleteWhen the fruits appear and you post them, are you going to show us the flower again, to refresh our memory?
That is a neat photo. I think water droplets enahances any photo. I liked one I saw recently of a person whose head just got wet and water drops from hair and nose was really neat to see. You could just imagine what the experience was like.
ReplyDeleteGobsmacked
I hope you'll give us a picture of the blue beads once they appear.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot! :-)
ReplyDeleteAwesome macro! Water drops are good for setting things off just right.
