Canada Geese Over Farm/ Sepia Scenes

Canada Geese flying over Scugog Island, Port Perry, Ontario

It was early evening and four geese were heading for a place to spend the night.

I worked on this photo in two layers. The bottom layer was in colour and the top in sepia at 70% opaque, which allows come colour to show through.

  3. I have no idea how you do that "working in two layers" technique, but it looks really good when you have finished!

  9. I'd like to know how you did this too! What a wonderful hint of color it has, and yet it still has the sepia appeal.

  12. Interesting what you did to the photo! Nice photo anyway tho. I ahve a question about Canada Geese. I always called them Canadian Geese so why the difference in wording?

  14. PERBS,

I think the correct term is Canada geese but tons of people do call them Canadian geese.

  21. What a stunning view! Your edits make this farm look quaint and old fashioned. I can't say if it is still a working farm, but I can almost see the grazing bovines lazily enjoying their grasses...

  33. It is that time of year. What a lovely fall shot. I love how low the geese are flying. They are usually so high in the sky around here that a shot like that wouldn't even be possible. Absolutely beautiful!
