Ring-a-dingy/ Macro Monday

Anybody home?

I didn't try ringing this bell so I don't know how how loud it rings. But it has a string on it so I think it IS used.

  1. I think you're a little bit too shy. I would have rung the bell! How did you resist the temptation?!

  4. Wonderful shot! Love the rust on the cow and the bell echoing the red paint, and the contrast between the rough wood and the smooth metal! Even a couple of strands of spiderweb!!

  7. now that's a cow bell! When we went to the olympics we bought cow bells and took them with us. I didn't know it was a tradition to ring the bells as the skiiers crossed the finish line. It was a lot of fun.

  11. Maybe they ring the bell to call the cows in. I have a bell like that only it is a horse on it instead of a cow.

  19. The cows on grandma's farm wore little bells so we could find them in the woods. I guess it's not unreasonable to a business establishment to ring a bell to call customers to din-din.

    Love the photo!

  20. Interesting bell -- did it ring attention to someone coming to help you and you didn't need help? I would have tried it too! I wonder why they allowed it to rust?

  21. What a great bell. I'm not sure I would have been able to keep myself from giving the bell a little ring a ding.
