For decoration or for actual use, these snowshoes are for sale at an antiques and collectible shop in Port Perry, Ontario.
Not enough snow for snowshoes in East Gwillimbury yet! (We did receive a dusting yesterday but it's now only a memory.)

I saw on the news a few minutes ago that it's snowing in Dallas, Texas! I guess it won't be long before East Gwillimbury gets some that will stick around. This is a wonderful sepia picture.

ReplyDeleteI love this shot. My dad worked outside as a game manager. We had plenty of these laying around the yard and hanging in the barn. Makes me a bit homesick for the guy.
ReplyDeleteNo snow in our neck of the woods yet either. We used that style snow shoe for years but we upgraded recently. I loved those old shoes. And they make a great composition, especially in sepia.
ReplyDeleteThat is such a nice sepia. Beautiful shot and processing.
ReplyDeleteLOL! yes, snow is a four letter word.
ReplyDeleteThe shoes are fantastic.
So far so lucky with a dusting of snow. Put off buying these for awhile. Do you think they would really work?
ReplyDeleteNice sepia like always!
Neat snow shoes...and glad you only got a dusting :)
ReplyDeleteNice work! And I do love Port Perry.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to have the snow replacing the cold rain...
ReplyDeleteGod bless you!

I just love it when winter starts coming around so I see all the cool winter stuff that has no place in my world. Love the snowshoes.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see photos of snow in your your area soon!
ReplyDeleteThese snowshoes seem to fit the US view 'the Great White North'. Happily four-wheel drive exists today, so the snow shoes are a bit more optional these days. However, with flurries in Ontario, one cannot be too prepared...
ReplyDeleteCool antique picture. Have you ever tried to actually walk in similar snowshoes?? I have. My dad bought snowshoes to walk in his garden when the snow lay 2 meter high. Worst thing I've ever had on my feet. So my dad thought.

I wonder if those snow shoes have traveled a lot of kilometers over the snow? We don't have any snow here yet either!
ReplyDeleteWe got the same amount of snow as you did. Every day without will get us that much closer to Spring! I prefer to hang the snowshoes for decoration. I think they are so cool.
ReplyDeleteB.
That first picture is awesome! It almost looks like a painting.
ReplyDeleteSeems like winter is late arriving in many places this year.
ReplyDeleteAt first, I thought you were talking about another "S" word, EG... Guess my mind is in the gutter this morning. ha
ReplyDeleteNo snow yet, huh????? Gosh--if you don't get snow there, then I know we'll NEVER get any. ha
Cute sepia shot though...
Hugs,
Betsy

ReplyDeleteI wonder what it would be like to walk with snow shoes? Nice picture.
