Bolsover Lock 37/ Watery Wednesday

Looking easterly at lock 37 on the Trent-Severn Waterway, Ontario

On the left you can see the falls over the dam at Bolsover, Ontario, a fall of about 22 feet.  And on the right you can see the Bolsover lock, part of the  Trent-Severn Waterway. Boats heading easterly will eventually reach Lake Ontario at Trenton, now part of the City of Quinte West.

It's quiet here because the locks are closed from mid-October through mid-May.

Looking westerly from the bridge over the falls

Boats heading westerly are bound for Lake Simcoe. If they follow the waterway to its end, they will reach Lake Huron at the Town of Port Severn..

  12. Quiet is nice. How big of boats use the Locks? Seattle has a huge one from non-salt water to salt water and pretty good sized boat go through there./ MB
