The Old Stone Jail/ Window Views

The Old Stone Jail, Beaverton, Ontario

This is among the oldest surviving stone buildings in Beaverton, Ontario, probably built around 1850. It's now part of a museum but was originally placed near the town's hotels, likely because itinerant workers and tourists were the trouble makers - certainly not the local townspeople. (wink, wink)

Barred window - there are three on each side of the jail

  1. This certainly is a well-preserved building. It would be nice to visit, but that would make me a tourist and hence a trouble maker!

  2. Well at least you weren't on the inside looking out. those old jails were meant to last so no one could break out. Haha!! MB

  3. Would not want to spend the night in there. Nope, prefer my own bed. No trouble making from me.

You might want to check your word at the title. . . I was trying to figure out what a widow had to do with it.

  10. Oh, my, wish that was my studio, without the bars of course...though on second thought, with my sewing machines, they might not be a bad idea. haha Nah, I wouldn't want them, but I love stone buildings of any kind.
