Close Encounter/ Macro Monday

Tiny bee on wild blue iris

I used my zoom lens to take this photo so the bee (or is it a  WASP?)  didn't know I was there, thank goodness.

  2. It's a good idea to stay quite a distance away from those wasps, just in case they object to having their picture taken.

  5. Looks like a wasp to me? Nice shot. I was trimming along a wall with hand clippers one fall day and disturbed wasps, They are mean. I had no idea I could run that fast, still, I got a few stings.

  6. Now that is just beautiful. Sometimes I use my zoom also. Easier and doesn't make a shadow either.

Glad you didn't get stung regardless of whether it is a bee or a wasp!

  11. How very intriguing and pretty to see the pattern of this lovely flower with an additional bonus of a snacking wasp! The wild Orchid is enchanting in its own habitat.

  17. Cool! I love it when I accidentally capture pictures of insects! They move so quickly that it's hard to get a good one.
