Shop window, Olcott, New York
I'm a window shopper so it didn't matter that the shop was closed.
Olcott is a tiny cottage-y (is there such a word?) village on Lake Ontario between Buffalo and Rochester. My husband I like to stop there for coffee and an-all-day breakfast served at a small restaurant on the main street. (The people are really, really nice; the is food good and reasonably priced.)
This stop makes my camera very happy as there's ALWAYS something to photograph on the beach, at the harbour or around the cottages and shops.

I love shops like these but I rarely buy anything;)
ReplyDeleteNice window scene. I like to wander through shops like this and occasionally something will catch my eye and you know the rest. MB
ReplyDeleteThere's so much to see in this window! Fun shop :D
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice capture of textures and contrasts. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteNice shot! Looks like this could be in Rockport. I also grew up near the Atlantic Ocean, and I love going there. No ocean in Ohio!
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing antiques with a maritime flavor! Nice shot, and a souvenir for almost nothing!
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping in!
That would make a neat painting! So much to look at in each window pane. I like places like this too.
ReplyDelete*sigh* I've never been to the beach but I've always longed to. Thanks for these lovely images.
ReplyDeleteThis looks best for window shopping only, though curiosity...
ReplyDelete"Cottage-y?" Well, it is a word now.
ReplyDeleteGood food that is reasonably priced. That sounds like a winning combination!
I really like this window view. I'm not much of a shopper, but this window would draw me in.
ReplyDeleteI LoVe cottage-y villages and window shopping!I just may vist that place this summer!
ReplyDeleteAll day breakfast sounds nice. And a fun window, too!
ReplyDeleteWindows (as in photography) is a very fun and interesting subject. Especially when one does it as well as this.
ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely villagey sort of shop window.
ReplyDeleteI love these kinds of shops.
ReplyDeleteI love windows like this, EG! Such an eclectic collection! Thanks for participating in Window Views! :)
ReplyDeleteA perfectly nautical window scene.
ReplyDeleteNow this is a "windows" that I like! Looks like an antiquey shop or a fishy shop.
ReplyDeleteYes, it's very warm and often very windy here. 94 degrees today on the golf course.
The flag you mentioned is the Florida state flag.
Re your comment on Ocala: Yes, that's Spanish Moss, which is a real pain in the ass, if you'll excuse my language. It's awful stuff, full of bugs and it's sticky ... ugh.
ReplyDeleteThere is a lot of charm in those small, waterside towns. Beautiful shot of the maritime window!
ReplyDeletehee hee!
ReplyDeleteEven if the word "cottage-y" didn't exist before, it does now, Mrs. Webster!
Looks like a interesting place for shopping. The picture is great!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a place I would like to visit. My mom was born and raised in Rochester. Perhaps I will actually see this little village someday.
