Olcott, NY/ Window Views...

Shop window, Olcott, New York

I'm a window shopper so it didn't matter that the shop was closed.

Olcott is a tiny cottage-y (is there such a word?) village on Lake Ontario between Buffalo and Rochester. My husband I like to stop there for coffee and an-all-day breakfast served at a small restaurant on the main street. (The people are really, really nice; the is food good and reasonably priced.)

This stop makes my camera very happy as there's ALWAYS something to photograph on the beach, at the harbour or around the cottages and shops.

  5. Nice shot! Looks like this could be in Rockport. I also grew up near the Atlantic Ocean, and I love going there. No ocean in Ohio!

  6. I'm guessing antiques with a maritime flavor! Nice shot, and a souvenir for almost nothing!

    Thanks for dropping in!

  10. "Cottage-y?" Well, it is a word now.

Good food that is reasonably priced. That sounds like a winning combination!

  18. Now this is a "windows" that I like! Looks like an antiquey shop or a fishy shop.

Yes, it's very warm and often very windy here. 94 degrees today on the golf course.

The flag you mentioned is the Florida state flag.

  19. Re your comment on Ocala: Yes, that's Spanish Moss, which is a real pain in the ass, if you'll excuse my language. It's awful stuff, full of bugs and it's sticky ... ugh.

Even if the word "cottage-y" didn't exist before, it does now, Mrs. Webster!

  23. This sounds like a place I would like to visit. My mom was born and raised in Rochester. Perhaps I will actually see this little village someday.
