Monarch on Buddleia/ Camera Critters

Sipping delicious nectar

Now that my buddleias are in full bloom, I can count on seeing a few butterflies on sunny days. especially monarchs.  This year I am seeing many more monarchs than last year.

  4. Wow! Lovely. The blooming plants that the butterflies loved in our garden didn't do well the last winter. They are just beginning to come back and the heat of the summer hasn't helped. Unfortunately, no butterflies and I miss them. Great shot!

  12. I wondered if those had a different name -- we just call them Butterfly Bushes. I wish I had one. I haven't seen but one butterfly this year and it kept flying overhead so I could not get a shot of it. YOUR butterfly shot is super!

  16. They must all be in your neighborhood. I've only seen a couple of monarchs on my butterfly bushes. I saw one today, but as soon as he spied me, he made himself scarce. Nice capture.
