As the days grow longer, I have heard the local chickadees sing more often!
The sun rose this morning over East Gwillimbury at 7:17 and will set at 5:50. That's ten-and-a-half hours of daylight! Whoohoo! And we are gaining nearly three minutes of daylight every day.
Largest square: black capped chickadee. Moving clockwise: bluebird house on fencepost; three goldenrod galls and grapevine stems next to fence; fluffy cattails; snow on shelf fungus; and spruce tips in snow, broken off in wind and ice.

Lovely collage and descriptions. I've left my software for making collages at home in SA. Glad you're gaining on the daylight. Greetings from Jo
ReplyDeleteThat little chickadee looks cute. Watching them at the feeders is an easy way to waste a lot of time ~ well, perhaps "waste" is a bad choice of words, but it's easily addictive and before you know it you've lost hours!
ReplyDeleteI likee your nature notes, and the lovely accompanying photographs.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you -- whoopee, light returns! And yes, the chickadees are in full voice here, too. Great winter collage!
ReplyDeleteAnother lovely collage - bravo! I love the snow capped mushroom and the little birdie!
ReplyDeleteLove the Chickadee. I'll gladly take every three minutes of daylight I can get.

You captured winter pretty good with each photo here. I know, isn't it great that the days are getting longer.
ReplyDeleteLove this collage of photos! So right about the little chickadees. I guess they have something to sing about with spring approaching.
ReplyDeleteYou always have such lovely mosaics. The close-up on the chickadee is so cute. Is that his little home there too?
ReplyDeleteThat is a nice feeder. i need to get a new one. Mine is made of wire and is worn out.
ReplyDeleteI've noticed that it gets dark a bit later now. I have my table lamp set on a timer, and now it comes on when there's still quite a bit of light in the sky. I'll have to readjust the time, I guess.
ReplyDeleteSpring is on it's way.... HOORAY!
Lovely photos. The detail on the chickadee's tail feathers is just wonderful.
