Frozen Harbour/ Watery Wednesday

Colourful storage sheds at Rochester, New York, U.S.A.

As you can see, the harbour at Rochester, NY. is frozen and covered with snow. (At least it was at the end of January when I was there,)

All is quiet at the docks! The colourful sheds are for storing boat gear, each shed a different colour, I'm guessing to help boaters find their own docks.

More colourful sheds

To take these photos, I was standing in the parking lot on the other side of the rive.

  1. That would be a good way to find it. It's also a great way to get some "color" when winter starts to get a bit long.

  2. I enjoyed your photo of the colorful sheds. Nice to see the color against the cold of January. I just departed northern New York a couple of days ago. While the snow is certainly pretty, there definitely is a lack of color this time of year.

  16. It may be freezing cold, but I would love to be standing there right now. These colorful buildings with their docks are so festive looking. We would never see anything like this here in Virginia.

  27. An odd sight in the winter, places like this... aren't they? Still cheerful with the colour against the snow. But they definitely look like they're waiting for summer!
