Easter afternoon at Port Perry, Ontario
Last Sunday, the docks in Port Perry were put out and bolted together - so the boating season has officially begun on Lake Scugog. In fact, a few smaller boats were tied to the docks and ready to go.

Sure looks like summer is on its way. I've been sitting here mulling over the name Scugog. Interesting.

Hurray for the start of the season - now summer can't be far behind!
ReplyDeletePS You should have seen how many kites there were on the beach, literally dozens, I've never seen anything like it. Must have been the combination of the holiday and the sudden good weather.

I like the two red spots made by the boats among this beautyful blue world!
ReplyDeleteI like the tongue-twister names given to some of the place away up thataway!
ReplyDeleteScugog! I tried to say that real fast 10 times and fell down and hit my head which made me laugh so hard I bumped into the wall.
You've got to be more careful about what you post! :-)
But I have to say this is a fine photo and enticing as all get out and I can smell that water and the boats and want badly to head out onto the lake and do a little fishing!
Nice that they set out red boats first, they really make the shot.
ReplyDeleteOpen water; yippee! But I'll lost the stink pots. LOL Really nice photo. Maybe spring isn't hiding after all.
ReplyDeleteLove your reflections as always and the red boats are perfect -- along with some bright blue! Perfect! Hope you have a wonderful weekend! Enjoy!

Those red boats really do look like they can't wait to get out onto the water and race around!
ReplyDeleteI love the contrast of the red boats on the blue water.
ReplyDeleteHope those boats survived yesterday's winds!
ReplyDeleteGetting the boating season under way must be a sure sign that Spring has arrived to stay. I like the reflections, especially those of the gate on the left side of the photo.
ReplyDeleteA great view (and love the red!), full of promise of summer. Hope you'll also make a boating trip sometime:)
ReplyDeleteI'd like to spend some time around here taking pictures!
ReplyDeleteLove the composition with the 2 red boats facing each other.
ReplyDeleteI like the way the red pops against all the blue.
ReplyDeleteVery nicely done. I like it a lot.

ReplyDeleteheheheh,
ReplyDeleteYou made it as though you got a "vertical" reflection. The boats are so alike.
Great job.
Loving that reflection of red. Wonderful shot!
ReplyDeleteA lovely mix of soft and finely lined reflections! Lovely scene!
ReplyDeletePeaceful place... Thanks for the lovely sharing my dear.
ReplyDeleteVivid contrast of colors are exquisite! Especially red ships and the sea are synergistic. I love the color of hazy puplish forests too.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.
It must be a wonderful feeling being on the water on a lovely day like this! Great water shot. Hope you're having a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteThose red boats really 'steal' the eye, don't they?
ReplyDeleteLove the red in this photo.
ReplyDeleteAhh, water without ice and boats for exploring. Excellent.
ReplyDeleteI think I like your water reflections the best.
Nice composition. Love the color contrast between the dominant blues and the red boats.
ReplyDelete2 X 2 red boats on the beautiful blue sea....for what more could a photographer ask? This is super. A real serene and romantic shot.
