A lovely shot - that immediately reminds me of that Mel Gibson film Forever Young where he grows old quickly - it looks like the house in the final scenes where he lands the aeroplane.
HMmmm, now that's special!.... I know I could spend a while just looking at a view like that, not sure I could capture it as you have though, thanks for sharing your view!....:)

I'm glad you mentioned the color issue with goldfinches. Maybe we do have them year round and I don't recognize them without the bright yellow which is what a look for. I'll have to start paying more attention to the many finches I have year round and see if some of them are actually goldfinches. I have a bird guide which will probably show the differences in how they look in the winter.
