Female on her way down to her nest
Local cattails are alive with the sound of
Red-wings' nest
Notice how the nest is held up by the reeds.
Male
These guys ALWAYS have something to say, this time making sure everyone for miles around knows that I'm in his territory.
I am linking to World Bird Wednesday.
Red winged blackbirds and cat tails, what could be better? Oh, the nest!

ReplyDeleteI especially like the first shot!

ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful nest in the reeds. I hope there are no strong winds/storms before her family is grown and gone.
ReplyDeleteThese are amazing captures! Lot of bird watching in this area too - though I'm not quick enough with my camera. Love these :)
ReplyDeleteYour bird shots are gorgeous and it was such a treat to see the nest nestled there in the reeds. What a lovely post. I so enjoy seeing and reading about all the birds. genie

Cheers from Cottage Country East!
I always like seeing those red winged blackbirds. Love that flash of color.
ReplyDeleteI love the shot of the nest.
ReplyDeleteYou are so lucky that you were able to find the nest. My RWB's nests are too far from my vantage point in a very reedy place, so I have never been able to spot them. I do know right where they are though, because the females give it away by going to the same spot over and ove. Great Pictures ... have a wonderful week.
