Boardwalk over soft, mucky areas
It has been chilly but a few days have been sunny enough to encourage us into the woods to check out the wild flowers.
Bloodroot blossom
Already the bloodroot in some sunny areas have gone by, but in protected areas it's in full bloom.
Smiling violet
If in a hurry, you'd miss the common blue violets hugging the forest floor, even though they were close to the path.
Cheerful merrybells
But it would be hard to miss these bright yellow bells!

ReplyDeleteI love walking in the woods, especially this time of year. I enjoy finding wildflowers and seeing if I can identify them. You have found some pretty ones. I haven't seen or heard of a merry bell, but they sure are beautiful.

ReplyDeleteI'm glad you ventured into the woods to capture these beautiful wildflowers.
ReplyDeleteYour woodsy shot reminds me of south Florida where we have wooden walks built out over mangrove swamps. They keep your feet dry and make it more difficult for the gators to get you!
ReplyDeleteLove your wildflowers. I saw some white wildflowers here while playing golf today. I thought of your wildflowers!
Really pretty flOwers! I'm glad spring is finally here. :)
