Northern flicker creating a nest
The first photo was taken last June. This flicker let me get quite close - a bird with a mission. I was however shooting into the light as the tree was quite close to a fence that I could not walk around.

ReplyDeleteWhat a great set of pictures - I really like woodpeckers of all types, but we don't have any in Australia. That little crescent of black and the black bib are great features.

Very nice series. I have always had some nesting on our property and this year, every time they tried to nest, a Squirrel went in and ate the eggs...bummers~
