C/Alphabe-Thursday

 Crafty creche

C is for CRAFTY

Recently a few family members and I took a detour from another outing to visit a craft gallery. They were looking for unique gifts and inspiration; I was hunting for photo ops. While the rest of the family walked through the front door, I entered through the side alley and discovered this humble, life-sized creche.

 Crafty door and windows

Back at the front, you can see through the windows a taste of  what was inside.  I did go in, enjoyed looking around, but did not purchase anything. Having in the past sold crafts myself, I'm sure I was a big disappointment to the shopkeepers.

Crafty Christmas tree

Also out front, I noticed a festive tree that came already decorated with beads, baubles and star for the holidays. Anyone have any great ideas for how to keep this dust free from year to year?  Another problem would be to find a closet to store it.  Hmmmm.

  3. I think the tree could be left outside year round, as it doesn't look that Christmassy to me?

  10. Some people are crafty, some are sly, Some are daft, perhaps I?

You don't have to answer that!

  14. Looks like a great place to visit. That sort of decoration was very popular on Garden Junk awhile ago, I think they called them fireworks. You can put it in your garden in the summer and bring it in for the winter.

  15. I love that crèche, it's really nice. But the tree probably doesn't smell much like a Christmas tree, does it? :-)

  21. Good pics. I like the idea of pictures rather than buying things we don't need. Although I did have a little tree like that once. In fact my Mother gave it to me after having which child (idon't know). It was hard to store and it is long gone now. MB

  26. I learned a new word today, "C" for chreche. The first definition is 'a room for children' and then the second is 'a navity scene.'

    Thank you, Jim's Alphabe-Thursday[2] posts

  27. I'd keep the beaded tree up year round in the garden (so no dust there!).

  28. This would be how I'd do crafts -- by taking pictures of other people's work! (Having tiny houses like we do helps to discourage purchases!) I do love the rustic creche.

  30. These are fun photos!
I think some people shake their heads at me wondering about all this interest I have in taking photos of the most unexpected things.
That tree might have to be sprayed with water and left to dry in the sun. But that wouldn't be good if it had parts that could melt.
