American Kestrel/Wild Birds

Male American kestrel (Falco sparverius) 

Perching on a utility wire, this colourful and fierce American kestrel is North America's smallest falcon

Slate-blue head and wings, rusty-red back

Kestrels hunt in open areas with few trees and short vegetation.

  40. Kestrels are VERY difficult to get close enough to shoot. These are awesome. What lens did you use? I will not be able to post mine after seeing these. Great job!

  45. I think he looks cute all puffed up to keep warm ... but I know better. This little Falcon can move so quickly and hunt with a ferosity that would take your breath away, as I know you know. Beautiful pictures of a wonderful bird.
