Beaverton/Weekend Reflections

The harbour on Lake Simcoe at Beaverton, Ontario

Last weekend the ice was receding and fish-loving birds like great blue herons and belted kingfishers were moving in. Now we are hoping for a bit more sunshine.

As you can see, there's not much colour here yet. But I do have one lonely crocus blooming in my gardens - even though we did have snow flurries yesterday.

  2. I'm trying to visualize what it would look like with green grass and leaves on the trees. Snow coming tonight and tomorrow here. :( Sigh....

  3. That is so pretty. I am looking out my window looking at the freezing rain sticking to everything, most people would be upset I cannot wait to get out and take photos. I have a feeling we are similar that way:) B

  20. Nice rippling reflections. Here in Maine we are maybe 1-2 weeks ahead of you, but not much. I still have snow piles that the plow made. Hopefully soon for both of us. Crocus is a good sign.

  27. Lake Simcoe is one of my favorite lakes and I've never seen it in person. What a great shot and great reflections.

I heard a heron flying overhead the other day, saying "We're heading to Ontario. The snow ought to be gone by now." Noooooooooo!
