CAMEL
C is for C-CRITTERS here in CANADA
Can you believe it? Just last week, this camel was nibbling grass in a farmer's field...in Canada!
CASPIAN terns
I've said it before and I'll say it again, terns remind me of old men in berets - COMICAL, CHARMING CHARACTERS.
CATBIRD
Ever heard the CATLIKE CALL of a catbird? Catbirds are often secretive hiding in tangles of vines and limbs (CLEVER, eh?) but passersby know they are there by their mewing sound.

Love all of these shots. That camel is too much, and you remember, I'm sure, that old advertisement suggesting someone would walk a mile for a camel...well, I ain't walking all the way to Ontario!
ReplyDeleteWhat about the phrase, "He's in the catbird seat"? Where'd that come from.
And you're right about the terns...but they are well-dressed old men (French men?)...
The idea of the terns being old men in berets made me smile!
ReplyDeleteCheers - and thanks for linking to WBW - Stewart M - Melbourne
So is that a Canadian Camel or a Canada Camel as in Canada geese vs. Canadian geese?
ReplyDeleteI love the thought of a camel in Ontario!!!
ReplyDeleteThe first picture stopped my in my tracks. Camels in Canada? Ok, if you say so. Otherwise I'd suspect PhotoShop.

An English Girl Rambles
We see camels almost every time we go to Branson. It was quite a startling sight the first time I spotted them behind that tall fence along the highway! Great shots!
ReplyDeleteAll are gorgeous but I CANNOT get over that CAMEL! Just nibbling away randomly in Canada!
ReplyDeleteThat camel is adorable!
ReplyDeleteCool camel! I don't know if I have heard a catbird.
ReplyDeleteAre you sure it isn't a mirage? :-)
ReplyDeleteCamels in Canada I am shocked:) B

Not your every day, run of the mill animal sightings. Camel - and I thought I had hit the 'oddly out of place' animal find with a llama among the cows last Fall.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've ever heard or seen a catbird. Hmmm...you've got me curious. Do they really sound like a cat?
ReplyDeleteNot a place I would expect to see a camel.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot of the camel!!
ReplyDeleteWell now I"m all intrigued. I've never heard the call of catbird I don't think. Or maybe I have and thought it was a cat.
ReplyDeleteI love the camel portrait!Cute critters!
ReplyDeleteLéia
The camel certainly looks unusual in such a green field!
ReplyDeleteC for Cool Captures of Cute Critters!
ReplyDeleteNow, that camel is one handsome fella!!
ReplyDeleteWishing you a wonderful day!
One of my neighbors keeps a couple camels - it never fails to make me stop in shock even though I know they are there!
ReplyDeleteHaha! I'll never look at terns the same way again EG .. I think a camel chewing grass in a field would have made me stop an click also :)
ReplyDeleteGreat C's :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like a small camel... a baby maybe??
ReplyDeleteLove your candid Cs!
ReplyDelete=)
Ha, ha, the terns look cute in their berets!
ReplyDeleteFunny that you saw a camel grazing in Canada. That's got to be pretty unusual.
I can't help but wonder how a camel turned up in a field in Canada.
ReplyDeleteWe have catbirds but not the old men in beret birds. They are very pretty.
ReplyDeleteThose are some great catches for the letter C! I have never heard of a catbird, but it sounds quite interesting.
ReplyDeleteHow very awesome your C post is with the most darling of critters- although a camel is by far too proud to be listed as a critter- so much more class !!!
ReplyDeleteCamels?!
ReplyDeleteI showed my 2 year old. He likes camels because he likes "Camel-ope". The rest of us call it cantaloupe.
nice Canadian critters
ReplyDeleteCatching up...was gone on vacay♫ Love the creatures you chose♫ My C: http://lauriekazmierczak.com/cow-clique/
ReplyDeleteThat's amazing! I had no idea dromedary's lived in Canada. One hump is a dromedary, two humps is...I can't remember.
ReplyDeletethat's crazy about that canadian camel!
ReplyDeleteWhat are the chances of seeing a camel in Canada... Crazy!
ReplyDeleteThose birds sure aren't charming canaries...
This post made me chuckle...
