Hummer/Birding

 Ruby-throated hummingbird

Hummingbirds have been hanging around my garden lately but every time I try to capture them with my camera, they disappear.  I took these photos on the first of September and have been waiting ever since to get better ones. Ha! Soon they'll be gone, headed for the Deep South and beyond.

Heading towards Physotegia in a side garden

There are still plenty of blossoms full of nectar, but two acted as if there was only enough for one. I suspect they were squabbling siblings.

Hiding?

  14. The photos you got earlier are great!! The hummers are probably sensing an urgency to get going, and that's why they don't take time for the camera!!

  21. I had two squabbling hammers in the yard earlier this summer, dive-bombing each other.

  22. Excellent shots. I hope you see more Hummers. We took our Hummingbird feeders down because no one was showing up anymore and then today one came right up to me and looked so sad. I rushed right in and fixed up a feeder so now I hope they come back. MB

  24. I think the pic with the wings almost still is amazing. Mine are almost always blurred out. We have them on our butterfly bushes, but they are so quick it is almost impossible to get a good shot.
