Pumpkins ripening
Friday my husband and I were out and about when we came upon a field of pumpkins. Ripening already? Yikes! The season really IS changing.
I like the contrast of the orange and green so we stopped so I could take some photos. And I just had to take a photo of...
Wagons in the background
the wagons. This farmer takes his/her orange and green seriously.

But summer may not be over yet. Sitting in another field, two people in portable chairs watched...
Kempenfelt Bay
sailboats in the bay where - if it weren't for the goldenrod in the foreground - it could look like summer.

There's something very inviting about a field of pumpkins.
ReplyDeleteIt's only slightly over a month until Canadian Thanksgiving. Time flies.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pumpkins photo!
ReplyDeleteGreetings, RW & SK
Very colourful looking!
ReplyDeleteLove seeing pumpkins in the field. Where my daughter lives they have a factory that cans pumpkin. They call it the pumpkin capital of the world. Not sure that's true, but could be I guess. They have a pumpkin festival coming up later this month. I'm sad to see summer go, but do love the fall colors. Very nice selection of photos.
ReplyDeleteI love the pumpkin photos. It seems so early for them but it sure felt like fall this morning. Nice to see the couple enjoying the sailboats on a beautiful day.
ReplyDeletethat first photo is fantastic... the green is so green the orange is so orange, just beautiful. and i love to sit and stare out over water...great capture on that one to
ReplyDeleteInteresting contrast. It is always a signal when the pumpkins in the field start ripening.

I'd love to go exploring that field of pumpkins. Wow, autumn really is in the air now:)
ReplyDeleteboth scenes/seasons are sweet. :)
ReplyDeleteThe orange and green complement each other perfectly. Make the most of the last warm sunny days, like the couple in their portable chairs . . .
ReplyDeleteThe pumpkins in the east look more mature than those in western BC but this could be because we switched weather patterns for a while. Also, the fog rolled in so no sailboats to be seen today, although they are lovely to watch out in the water in summer as well as in autumn.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe the Pumpkins are that ripe already. Yipes is right!! I'd better get down in the Valley and see whats going on. My pumpkins or should I say ;pumpkin' is still small and green. MB
ReplyDeleteI am amazed at the size of those pumpkins. Good Grief, Halloween is almost upon us!!
ReplyDeleteHi Love the pumpkins in field. Love the shot of those 2 people but I think they might have had a row! Looking at the water may cool them off.
ReplyDeleteWow, it doesn't seem like it should be pumpkin season quite yet but, it really is creeping up on us. I love the photo. I don't get to see pumpkins in the field very often.
