Cold day, warm sunset
It's official - today we are now halfway through winter. Wiarton Willie (our local albino groundhog) is predicting six more weeks of cold weather and Environment Canada agrees.
Largest photo: The light at the entrance to Whitby Harbour is covered in ice.
Moving clockwise: Ice on rocks in Whitby Harbour, sunset over farm, drifting snow, sunset over E.G. field and sunset through maples.

ReplyDeletethat´s a lot of ice in the wrong place. But the ice creates interesting shapes. :)
ReplyDeleteThat is a spectacular collage: great shots and a super combination with color. And the harbor light is something else. (I'm guessing it's not functional at the moment?)

The Fire and Ice shots are wonderful. Six more weeks? BIG sympathy!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a great caption for this collage of photos. The scenes are all beautiful. Yes, we know we'll get six more weeks of winter even if Shubenacadie Sam did not see his shadow. lol Predictions for a colder February don't make me happy.
ReplyDeleteOur stupid groundhog did the same thing! Love this collage. That one of ice on the rocks is terrific...looks like a sailboat was ensconced in ice, too!
ReplyDeleteI rather have a martini on the rocks, though!
Gorgeous icy and fiery shots - lots of contrast. The ice on the rocks is really crazy. What a winter you're having.
ReplyDeleteWow..what a beautiful collage! That ice is amazing...as are those sunsets!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,

Great collage. Glad we are half way through winter although our winter hasn't been bad.
ReplyDeleteDarla
*sigh* Only halfway?
ReplyDeleteWow, I will never complain about our cold and snowy weather again! (Yes, I will. But I will conclude my complaints with the reflection that at least I'm not in EG, where the lighthouse is wrapped in ice!!!)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful collection! Sorry for six more weeks of cold, though. :(
ReplyDeleteUgh, you're kidding me! I missed the groundhog report but caught the Enviro Canada one. Your lovely photos both chill and warm my heart. At least it's sunny in Van even with the arctic outflow...brrr sounds so cold! Hope your week is shaping up nicely. :)
ReplyDeleteWow - fabulous, fabulous and Wow!
ReplyDeleteThese are amazing shots! I really hope the groundhogs are wrong and we have an early spring. I'm not holding my breath though.
ReplyDeleteI love the comparison of fire to ice and your photography is just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI'm reminded of RObert Frost's poem
ReplyDeleteSome say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.
Fabulous photos!
Wonderful shots. The light covered in ice is amazing. The sunsets are spectacular. All of these shots are great.
